VNYC thanks everyone that joined us at our last event where we "found our hearts", had some fun and helped a child in need.
We thank all that contributed on the night and helped us raise over $1200.00 on the night. This means we will be able to purchase the special equipment needed by a little girl in desperate need of our help.
Shania is a 21 month old girl and suffers from Seizure Disorder, Developmental Delay, Hypotonia and Severe Obesity. Her present weight is 60lbs. Her problems are still being investigated but are probably associated with a syndrome called Prader-Willi Syndrome.
Shania's mother needs assistance with the specialised equipment that will greatly assist her with the daily challenge of taking care of Shania. Since she is so heavy, her mother has already developed back problems from trying to lift her daughter and since Shania outgrew her stroller she is also finding it impossible to make it to her many doctor's appointments.
The money raised will purchase a specialized stroller along with a walker and specialized bath chair.
